As the RNLI celebrates its 200th anniversary, the charity is seeking people who would like to follow in the yellow welly footsteps of RNLI volunteers past and present.

Southwold RNLI is recruiting.
Southwold RNLI currently has several volunteering opportunities available, which include operational roles such as:

Inshore lifeboat crew – crewing the Atlantic 85 lifeboat on service and exercise.

Shore Crew – assisting with the safe launch and recovery of the lifeboats on service and exercise.

People don't need to have any previous seagoing experience to apply.

and non-operational roles:

Southwold & Dunwich Fundraising Branch is looking to welcome more members to the fundraising committee and assist in raising vital funds to help save lives at sea. Roles include:

Branch Chairperson
Branch Events Co-ordinator
Branch Secretary
Shop Volunteer

Volunteering for the charity is a rewarding experience, whilst providing an opportunity to make new friends and develop CV-enhancing skills.

Key facts about the RNLI

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts. The RNLI operates 238 lifeboat stations in the UK and Ireland and more than 240 lifeguard units on beaches around the UK and Channel Islands. The RNLI is independent of Coastguard and government and depends on voluntary donations and legacies to maintain its rescue service. Since the RNLI was founded in 1824, its lifeboat crews and lifeguards have saved over 142,700 lives.
