Events at Berwick-upon-Tweed RNLI to mark RNLI's bicentenary
This year, 2024, marks 200 years since the foundation of the RNLI. To celebrate this remarkable milestone, several events are planned in Berwick throughout the year.
One of the first of these is to be an exhibition focusing on the history of the RNLI in Berwick, which will be held in Spittal Community Centre over the weekend of 23 and 24 March 2024.
Berwick RNLI Fundraising Group is looking for people who have either had a connection with Berwick Lifeboat over the years, or descendants of families who were involved in the past.
They are looking for anecdotal histories, or anything else relating to Berwick’s Lifeboat history that people would be willing to share with them for the exhibition.
Please contact Jen Wood, Lifeboat Administration Officer at [email protected] or come down and see them at the Brew with the Crew Event at Berwick Lifeboat Station on Sunday February 18 from 12 - 2 pm.
Other events include a concert being held by the Golden Square Singers at Berwick Baptist Church on Wednesday March 20 at 7.30pm. Entry is by donation with all proceeds going to Berwick RNLI.
The Lifeboat Fete Day is also taking place on Sunday 4 August.
Keep a lookout on Berwick Lifeboat’s Facebook page for further details and other events.
