Aberystwyth RNLI lifeboat search for missing person

Both Aberystwyth's Atlantic 85 lifeboat and Arancia inshore rescue boat were launched on service at 10.50pm on the evening of Friday 23 February.

They were launched to assist colleagues from HM Coastguard and Dyfed-Powys Police in the search for a person reported missing near Aberystwyth Marina. Volunteer crew members completed a comprehensive search of the harbour area and the missing person was subsequently located safe and well at their home address. Both boats were stood down, returning to the lifeboat station where they were quickly refuelled and ready for service.

The RNLI charity saves lives at sea. Its volunteers provide a 24-hour search and rescue service around the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland coasts.
