Flint RNLI lifeboat was taken by road to launch from Greenfield Dock and was directed towards the vessel by Flint and Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Officers positioned on the shore. The volunteer crew conducted a thorough assessment of the vessel, revealing it to be in a non-seaworthy condition with no signs of recent occupancy.

The information gathered was relayed to the Coastguard who were happy for all teams to stand down. The lifeboat was returned to the station by road for a thorough wash down and refuel to ensure the lifeboat was ready for the next call.

James Davies, Helm, said: 'The member of public took the right action in reporting their concerns to the Coastguard. Thankfully, on this occasion, nobody was found to be in distress, and it would appear the vessel had broken free of its moorings.’
