New LOM at RHYL
On 1 January 2024, Rhyl lifeboat crew welcomed their new station manager Dr. Chris Stockport, who took over the role from Darrel Crowther.
Chris will now be in control of all station matters, and will join and also lead a team of launch authorities, whose role is to decide which lifeboat is best suited to the tasking on receipt of being paged.
Chris, who has been a crew member for many years, is well versed in the operations of the station, and will slot seamlessly into his new role. He is a director of the local NHS health board, so will be familiar with leading a large team.
Darrel, who also has been a crew member for over 20 years, will remain as a Deputy Launch Authority.
Coxswain Martin Jones says ' knowing Chris for many years as crew and the station doctor, has facilitated the changeover to a new manager very easy. We all wish Chris well in his new role'.
