Mayoral Support for Southwold RNLI
Town Mayor, Simon Flunder presented a cheque to Southwold RNLI volunteers on Sunday 7 January.
Town Mayor, Simon Flunder commented: 'One of my Mayor’s charities is the Southwold Lifeboat and I was delighted to present a cheque for £303 from the joint collection held at St Edmund’s Church’s Carol Service. The Lifeboat is manned by dedicated volunteers from Southwold and Reydon communities. It provides a tremendous service throughout the year to protect our coastal waters, residents and visitors. I encourage the public to support the RNLI in all the activities to celebrate their 200 year anniversary in 2024.'
While Southwold RNLI Operations Manager, Simon Hazelgrove added: 'This is yet another demonstration of the very close links the town has with their lifeboat. We are proud and grateful for the donation and look forward to continuing our work with the town council and our Mayor, Simon Flunder.'
