Beaumaris lifeboat tasked to a shout during exercise with Porthdinllaen lifeboat

However, at 10 .16 am the relief Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Irene Cornford, currently based at Beaumaris RNLI with her volunteer crew, was requested to attend an incident at Llanddwyn island.

A lone walker had been cut off by the incoming tide at Llanddwyn island once the walker was located and two volunteer crew members went ashore to assist her on to the lifeboat. As no medical assistance was required the walker was taken to the beach on the mainland.

Once this was completed by 10.39 am the volunteer crew then proceeded to the dock at Caernarfon to join their colleagues with the Water Safety Presentation.

A RNLI spokesperson said: ‘RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews are always on standby ready to respond to a call for help. If you spot someone or something in the water and you are concerned it could be someone in difficulty, you should always call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.’
