The charity is specifically seeking people for various roles, including inshore and all-weather lifeboat crew, shore crew, water safety advisors, and deputy launch authorities.

Regardless of the role, comprehensive training and support will be provided. While a maritime background is beneficial, it's not necessary for most positions.

Adam Prescott, Harwich RNLI volunteer Lifeboat Press Officer, expressed: 'Volunteering with us provides an opportunity to make a tangible impact in the local community, save lives, and become part of the larger RNLI family. Our wonderful volunteers play a crucial role every day, regardless of the specific role they fulfil.

'If being on a lifeboat isn't your preference, consider joining our water safety team as an advisor. In this capacity, you'll offer RNLI Water Safety advice to the public through visits and events. Alternatively, you can contribute as a member of the shore crew, assisting in the launch and recovery of the lifeboats.'

Becoming a volunteer offers a chance to actively contribute to saving lives. Enthusiastic people with an interest in improving water safety and working as part of a team are encouraged to explore more on the Harwich RNLI Facebook page or attend the volunteer evening on 1 February at 6:30pm.

The RNLI offers top-notch training, equipment, and support to all volunteers, from lifeboat crew to shop volunteers and event marshals. Learn more about available opportunities in your area at www.rnli.org/VolRoles.
