The Beaumaris Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington with her volunteer crew launched at 1.54 pm and proceeded to the area.

In addition to the Beaumaris Lifeboat volunteers the Mobile Coastguard Rescue Team from, Bangor was also tasked to this incident.

Once at the scene the lifeboat volunteers spoke with the paddleboarders who advised that they needed no assistance and that everything was fine with them.

This information was passed to H.M. Coastguard who instructed at 2.14 pm instructed the lifeboat to return to her station at Beaumaris the boat arrived back at Beaumaris at 2.31 pm being cleaned and refuelled by 3.05 pm when the volunteer crew left the station.

A RNLI spokesman said, ‘this was a false alarm with good intent and whilst in this instance the paddleboarders had informed the coastguard before launching; once the report of them being in possible difficulties the coastguard had to activate the response units having failed to make contact with them’.
