The craft had managed to anchor by Y Felinheli, but it was doubtful if this would hold the vessel overnight. The lifeboat launched at 2.02 pm proceeding to the vessel.

Having ensured that all was well with the one adult aboard. an assessment was made by the helmsman as to the best course of action. It was decided for safety reasons that the boat should be towed to local Dinas boatyard so that the boat could be recovered from the water for the inboard engine to be repaired.,

Once this had been completed the lifeboat was released by the coastguard to return to her station.at Beaumaris returning at 3.12 pm to be refuelled and cleaned. Once this had been completed the crew left the station.

A RNLI spokesman said: ‘The boat owner did the correct thing in alerting the Coastguard to their predicament. This meant our volunteer lifeboat crew were able to reach the casualty quickly, assess the situation and take the best course of action to prevent the situation worsening.’
