Clacton RNLI attend successful community event
On Saturday 11 May 2024 at the invitation of Essex Police, volunteers from RNLI Clacton lifeboat station took part in the Clacton Police Open Day event.
As part of the Tendring Community Safety Partnership, Clacton police station opened it’s doors today for an Emergency Services Day running from 11am til 2pm outside of Clacton Police station.
This saw a variety of specialist police, fire service, medical and specialist teams have representatives be available to the public to come and learn more about the work they do.
RNLI Clacton were lucky to be invited to this and had a display on site with members of our volunteer crew, fundraisers, water safety and more available to chat to.
Two main highlights of the day include the arrival of our D-Class ILB (Inshore Lifeboat) ‘Damars Pride’ which drew in lots of people (although it had to leave due to a call out) and the appearance of Stormy Stan who welcomed lots of our younger supporters too.
RNLI spokesperson said ‘It was great to see so many people come and visit our stand at the open day and to talk with them and answer their questions. We are and continue to appreciate the support that you provide to us, to help us to continue to save lives at sea’.
‘We look forward to seeing you again on Sunday 12 May for our station open day starting at 10am where our volunteer crews will be celebrating the RNLI’s 200 birthday and will be signing the commemorative scroll’.
We would like to thank Essex Police and everyone involved in arranging and running this excellent day for their help and support and congratulate you on such an outstanding event.
