Concern for paddle boarder prompts callout for Troon RNLI inshore lifeboat

At 9.23pm on Friday 10 May 2024, Troon RNLI inshore lifeboat was requested to launch by Belfast Coastguard following reports of a paddle boarder in difficulty near to Troon harbour.

The volunteer crew attended at the station to launch D class inshore lifeboat Sheena but as they did so the crew were informed by Belfast Coastguard that the paddle boarder was no longer in difficulty and the assistance of the lifeboat was no longer required.

With this information, the lifeboat was rehoused, made ready for service by the shore crew and the lifeboat crew returned home.

If you do get into difficulty, or if you see someone who may be in difficulty, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.’
