Fowey lifeboat launches to assist three people on broken down boat
On 12 May at 5.14pm Fowey’s volunteer lifeboat crew launched their all-weather lifeboat to assist a 17ft Dory which was reported to have broken down in the vicinity of Lantivet Bay.
Crew members James Dowrick and Graham Middlewood took the XP boat ashore where they found the casualties safe and unharmed. The lifeboat crew transferred the three casualties back to the all-weather boat and then the XP boat crew went to the anchored Dory. They were able to restart its engine and so, escorted by the all-weather lifeboat, the lifeboat crew returned the Dory to Fowey where it was handed back to its crew.
