RNLI Clacton launch to reports of vessel in distress.

Our volunteer crew launched their Atlantic 85 B-Class Lifeboat ‘David Porter MPS’ into calm sea conditions and with excellent visibility and made their way to the last reported location.

The crew quickly located the vessel which had one occupant aboard, and a brief welfare check was conducted and the casualty was found to be safe and well.

After a short discussion it was discovered that the casualty was fishing and there were no issues with their safety, and after confirmation with the coast guard that the crew had identified the correct vessel as per the first informant (a concerned member of the public) the crew were then stood down.

The lifeboat returned to the lifeboat station where it was cleaned, refuelled and was ready for service at 6.00pm.
