The event was not primarily a fund raising event, but more to showcase the station and the work of the RNLI, to the public. They were also able to enjoy a 'Brew with the Crew' in the boathouse.

The event was attended by a large number of visitors, some of whom were given a tour of the station, seeing areas of the station not normally accessible to the public.

Members of the crew were on hand with the lifeboats, to explain how the state-of -the-art technology is used by the charity, to save lives at sea. There was a lot of interest in the Lifeboat Launching Tractor (SLRs), as well as both the Shannon class all-weather lifeboat RNLB John and Elizabeth Allan and the inshore D class lifeboat RNLB Grace Darling.

Seahouses RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Julie Harris, said: 'Today has been a great success, and helped us promote the work of the RNLI, especially here at Seahouses. It was really good to see and chat with so many visitors. I think the crew and the many visitors really enjoyed the day.'
