11-year-old cyclist raises over £1300 for RNLI

Lifeboats News Release

On Monday 27 May 2024, Joshua Angier, from Witham, Essex, cycled from Cromer RNLI to Wells RNLI, visiting Sheringham RNLI on the way, accompanied by his dad Simon. They cycled a total of 33 miles over four hours taking part in the RNLI Mayday Mile challenge.

Joshua has fond memories of visiting these three lifeboat stations with his dear Grandad, who sadly passed away last month. Joshua has his name on the decals of Wells RNLI launch a memory lifeboat Duke of Edinburgh and wished to see his name on the Shannon class all-weather lifeboat.

Joshua is currently enrolled at his local swimming pool as a trainee lifesaver. He was inspired to enrol on the course after seeing the lifeguards in action on the beaches in the Summer and from visiting the RNLI stations with his family.

His Dad, Simon Angier said: 'Hopefully the lifesavers course will enable Joshua to help others in the future. It was a privilege to wear our RNLI Mayday Mile Challenge T-shirts on the ride, whilst raising much needed funds for the RNLI.'

Joshua has raised over £1300 to date with Gift Aid for the RNLI and his link to his Mayday Page is: https://fundraise.rnli.org/fundraisers/joshuaangier/mayday-mile.
