Give through your trust

As well as providing vital support for our running costs, significant donations can be used to support a particular area of our work.

For example, your trust could help us redevelop our lifeboat stations so that we can give our volunteer crew the modern facilities they need. Perhaps you would like to help us purchase equipment for a particular lifeboat station? Or you may want to help us expand our lifeguard service, which saves lives and helps prevent accidents on and around beaches.

We would like to thank all the trusts and foundations that give valuable support to the RNLI. Here are just some examples of the vital funding they provide.

Kinsurdy Charitable Trust has loyally supported us since 1996.

Most recently, the Trust donated £1.5M to help fund our international work, supporting our drowning prevention programmes overseas. 320,000 people are estimated to drown each year worldwide* – children under the age of five are at greatest risk and more than 90% of these deaths occur in low-or middle-income countries.

Over the last 10 years, Kinsurdy Charitable Trust’s generous support has brought in a total figure of over £2M.

The Kenneth and Susan Green Foundation has been a loyal supporter of the RNLI since 2012, contributing £25,000 each year towards the essential running costs of The Lizard Lifeboat Station in Cornwall.

Our running costs are vital for operating our lifesaving service – they ensure we can repair and maintain the station building and slipways which keep our crews, equipment and lifeboats safe and fit-for-purpose. The costs ensure the station has sufficient hot water and heating to provide our volunteers with a hot shower and a place to hang their wet crew kit after a long rescue. And they provide essential crew kit, training, lifeboat fuel and maintenance that enables our volunteers to continue answering the call for help.

Our lifeboat crews must be prepared for any eventuality while putting their lives at risk to save others and this support makes all the difference.
