Hello everyone,

In our 2024 live summer update and Q&A, we will be looking back at the many wonderful celebrations and activities that have taken place so far in our 200th anniversary year, as well as looking ahead to the next six months.

This will be my final update as Chief Executive of this incredible organisation and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you for your contribution to saving lives at sea.

It has been the greatest honour of my life to lead the RNLI into our 200th anniversary and meet so many of our dedicated and loyal volunteers, staff, supporters and partners over the past five years. My successor, Peter Sparkes, will start in early June for a handover before I officially pass the baton (or Ming vase as I often call this very special institution) on Wednesday 26 June.

I hope I will have the opportunity to see many of you before I leave either in person or virtually at this live update.

Thank you for everything you do to save lives at sea.
