Children using RNLI education resources in the classroom

Education resources

RNLI/Harrison Bates

Teach young people how to be safe near and in the water – and what to do if anything ever goes wrong. Free downloadable learning resources for water safety workshops and more.

We’ve put together a suite of teaching ideas and materials to help you engage young people with essential – and lifesaving – water safety lessons in schools and youth groups.

You’ll find videos, guided discussions, problem solving activities – and more – specifically tailored for primary and secondary school aged children.

Younger children will collect virtual stamps as they learn; for older children it’s stamps in a virtual passport and learning through planning their own water safety campaigns. You can also check out a range of resources on maritime heritage.

This summer, we have partnered with Plazoom, an online community helping to support teachers with high quality water safety resources.

Come and visit us or invite us to come and visit you - there's nothing quite like meeting RNLI volunteers and lifesavers to inspire young people.
