Arran's station history
1970
Lifeboat station established with a D class lifeboat.
1985
Boathouse constructed to accommodate the D class inflatable lifeboat.
1986
D class lifeboat withdrawn and replaced temporarily by C506 on 24 September.
1987
C521 Prince of Arran was sent to station on 17 June as the permanent station lifeboat.
1997
New boathouse for Atlantic 75 class lifeboat including housing for the lifeboat and launching vehicle and a crew training room completed in November.
2001
The new station Atlantic 75 class lifeboat B-770 The Boys Brigade was placed on service on 24 January 2001. Lifeboat B592 has been withdrawn.
2012
Geoffrey Norris, LOM awarded the MBE for Voluntary Service to the RNLI in the New Years honours.
2014
The new station Atlantic 85 class B-876 Rachel Hedderwick was placed on service 7 July 2014. This lifeboat was funded by the generous bequest of Miss Rachel Antoinette Hedderwick. Lifeboat B-770 The Boys Brigade has been withdrawn.
