Enniskillen's station history
2001
Lifeboat station opened 24 May 2001.
Atlantic 21 B class lifeboat B-549 Blenwatch was placed on service on Thursday 24 May for evaluation trials as part of the Inland Waters Project.
2002
Relief Atlantic 21 B class lifeboat B-525 Spix’s Macaw was placed on service on Thursday 4 April.
Because of the overall size and complexity of Lough Erne it was decided to base a second lifeboat on the Upper Lough that would work in conjunction with the original lifeboat stationed on the Lower Lough.
2008
The Atlantic 75, B-703 Jason Logg , was placed on service at Enniskillen Upper station on 26 February. Lifeboat B-581 has been withdrawn.
The Atlantic 75, B-702 Manchester Unity of Oddfellows was placed on service at Enniskillen Lower station on 26 February. Lifeboat B-591 has been withdrawn.
2009
On 11 May two Rescue Water Craft were placed on service for evaluation trials. RWC-052/3/4 are now on service at the Upper and Lower stations.
2012
The new Atlantic 75 B-792 Joseph and Mary Hiley was placed on service at Enniskillen Lower station on 8 March 2012. Lifeboat B-702 has been withdrawn.
At the Executive Committee meeting held on 3 July 2002 it was resolved that Enniskillen be formally established as a B class inshore lifeboat station with immediate effect. This is the first inshore lifeboat station to be established on non-tidal inland waters.
