Kessock's Station history
1993
A D class lifeboat was sent to North Kessock on 5 June for one season’s evaluation.
1994
All year round station established.
1995
New D class lifeboat D459 placed on service on 10 May.
1999
A decision was made by the Executive Committee at a meeting held on 7 April 1999 that North Kessock Lifeboat Station would change its name to Kessock Lifeboat Station when the planned changeover to an Atlantic 75 ILB takes place and on completion of the new boathouse.
2001
New lifeboat house completed in September to accommodate a new Atlantic class station lifeboat at a cost of £481,500. An Atlantic 75 lifeboat B709 Lucy Beryl was placed on service as temporary station lifeboat on 18 October 2001.
2002
The new lifeboat station was officially opened and a naming ceremony was held for the new Atlantic 75 lifeboat B-771 Moray Dolphin on Friday 7 June.
2013
The new station Atlantic 85 lifeboat B-873 Robert & Isobel Mowat was placed on service 11 January 2014. The lifeboat was funded by the generous bequest of Dr Isobel Stewart Fenton in memory of her Father & Mother. Lifeboat B-771 Moray Dolphin has been withdrawn.
The Committee of Management agreed in July 1992 that an Inshore lifeboat station was to be placed in the Kessock Bridge area of Inverness, at North Kessock. North Kessock is situated on the north side of the firth opposite Inverness, the largest town in Scotland north of Aberdeen. The nearest RNLI lifeboat station, Invergordon, is approximately 20 miles away.
