Kippford's Station history
2009
The new station D Class lifeboat D718 Catherine was placed on service on 12 November. D553 has been withdrawn. The lifeboat was funded by the generous bequest of Mrs Catherine Frances Harrison. The naming ceremony for this lifeboat was held on 17 April.
Station established at Kippford in May 1966 with the placing on service of a D class lifeboat, operational only during the summer months, until 1999, when the station remained open all year round.
