Queensferry's station history
1967
Inshore lifeboat station established in July with the placing on service of a D class lifeboat.
1969
On 1 January the name of station was changed to Queensferry, previously South Queensferry, at the request of the station branch.
1972
A D class lifeboat withdrawn and replaced by an Atlantic 21.
1974
A Framed Letters of Thanks signed by the Chairman of the Institution, Major General Ralph H Farrant CB, awarded to ILB crew, R Mackay, J Smith and G McAlpine for the rescue of a man in very severe conditions when his small dinghy was washed onto the Swallow Craig rock on 8 December.
1989
New boathouse constructed. It includes a crew/instruction room, a changing room, store and toilet facilities.
1997
Atlantic 21 lifeboat withdrawn and Atlantic 75 class lifeboat B735 placed on service on 8 May.
1998
Boathouse extension was completed in July.
2010
For services to the Institution, LOM Thomas James Robertson has been honoured by Her Majesty the Queen in the recent Birthday Honours; - Member, Order of the British Empire (MBE).
2012
New Atlantic 85 B-851 Jimmie Cairncross was placed on service at Queensferry Lifeboat Station on 06 September 2012. Lifeboat B735 has been withdrawn.
