The volunteer crew were tasked to assist a small passenger vessel in Scapa Flow with a fouled propeller, in danger of drifting into a local, oil-related, exclusion zone.



The vessel had become entangled in a discarded section of fish-farm cage of unknown origin but, by the time the lifeboat arrived, the vessel had freed itself with tenders from the passenger vessel and her sister ship having gotten hold of the cage section.

The Tamar Class Helen Comrie was quickly able to take the fish-farm cage in tow and removed it for safe disposal ashore.
