Saving Lives at Sea returns to Minehead
Minehead RNLI set to feature with daring rescue
This episode showcases a daring rescue from last autumn, when Minehead's D-Class lifeboat scrambled to the rocky shores of Exmoor in order to rescue two walkers in a perilous position, cut off by tides.
The rescue was complicated by tough sea conditions and failing light, as well as a challenging rocky beach landing, meaning that the station's Atlantic 85-class boat was also launched to assist, as well as Coastguard helicopter 187 from St. Athan.
Both walkers were recovered safe and well.
Lifeboat Helm Sean Phillips commented "It's great to be featured on this series and to have the chance to tell our story of lives saved during a really tricky rescue".
