Minehead RNLI receives visit from outgoing Chief Executive
Mark Dowie, who has served as Chief Executive of the charity since 2019, visited Minehead this week.
Minehead Lifeboat Station this week received a farewell visit this week from Mark Dowie, who is standing down after five years at the helm of the charity, following a varied career with roles spanning from Naval officer to positions at the highest echelons of global corporate management.
He toured the updated lifeboat station and chatted to crew about their roles in the organisation, expressing pride in a “professional and cohesive station”. Mark is no stranger to the operational side of lifeboats, having served as Lifeboat Operations Manager at Salcombe.
He will be replaced in June by Peter Sparkes, currently CEO of the UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO).
