Learning, wellbeing and benefits
From learning new skills to meeting new people in your community, there are plenty of ways to thrive as an RNLI volunteer.
Whether you've been volunteering for years or have just started, we've put together all the information you need to make the most of your role, including development opportunities, where to find support, and the benefits available to you as a volunteer.
Learning
If you're looking to grow and develop in your role, there are opportunities to further support the RNLI's lifesaving work, as well as quick ways to volunteer – which you can do alongside your existing volunteer role.
We want you to feel comfortable and confident in your role as a volunteer, so we've created an induction pack, as well as a hub of role-specific training to help you succeed.
Wellbeing
Without you, we would not be able to provide our lifesaving service. That's why your wellbeing and health is so important to us, both inside and outside of your volunteer role.
Support is here for you, and there's plenty of options available whenever you may need them - from your volunteer manager, to external resources.
Benefits
Being an RNLI volunteer is incredibly rewarding. As well as the pride that comes with helping to save lives at sea, there are lots of other great benefits to being an RNLI volunteer, including partnership discounts, subsidised RNLI clothing, and eligibility for a Blue Light Card.
