Penlee Lifeboat Station
Penlee has a remarkable history of bravery with the lifeboat crews being presented with 44 awards for gallantry during its 200 year history. The station has also witnessed tragedy with nine lifeboat crew losing their lives saving others at sea.

Visitor centre
Penlee’s visitor centre tells the story of 200 years of life saving in Mounts Bay, Penzance, Mousehole and Newlyn. It tells the story of Penlee’s lifeboats including the tragic loss of the Solomon Browne and all her crew. The visitor centre is open daily and is on the ground floor of the lifeboat station.
Visiting times
Penlee’s new visitor centre is open all year 10am to 4pm, seven days per week. Group visits can be arranged by appointment.
