Helly Hansen
Helly Hansen is proud to supply the kit that protects RNLI all-weather lifeboat crews and lifeguards.
Global technical sailing brand Helly Hansen is proud to supply the kit for our all-weather lifeboat crews and lifeguards - providing RNLI lifesavers with the very best kit to wear when they’re saving lives at sea.
Combining almost 350 years of rich heritage, innovation and expertise at sea, the RNLI and Helly Hansen share core brand values, history and experience - making this the perfect partnership for both organisations.
We worked very closely together during the kit design stage in 2018 to ensure Helly Hansen’s professional-grade gear meets the demanding needs of our lifesavers. But it isn’t just great kit that our partnership provides.
Helping to keep Helly Hansen customers safe
Our partnership is helping Helly Hansen to keep its customers safe when enjoying the water. Helly Hansen is committed to helping the RNLI achieve its vision of saving every one and, together, we’re reaching even more people with vital water safety messages.
- RNLI water safety messaging appears on all Helly Hansen sailing range hangtags (clothing labels) globally.
- Helly Hansen hosts RNLI lifejacket clinics at their sailing retail events in the UK and Ireland.
- Helly Hansen shares lifesaving RNLI advice with their customers, particularly those who boat and sail, helping to change attitudes towards lifejacket usage.
- In 2021 the RNLI and Helly Hansen placed lifejackets on a number of famous statues to raise awareness of the importance of wearing a lifejacket. It came as result of research carried out by Helly Hansen which found that just 56% of people in the UK always wear a personal floatation device when on the water.
Raising funds and awareness together
Helly Hansen is a key supporter of the annual RNLI Mayday fundraising appeal. In addition to promoting the appeal far and wide, each year Helly Hansen donates 50% of its sales in the UK throughout the month of May.
The RNLI is proud to feature in Helly Hansen’s global brand campaigns such as Heroes of the Unpredictable, which celebrates its technical clothing and the people it protects.
